2017 Graduate
Football, Baseball, Basketball
Jack Koerner was a three-sport athlete at Dowling Catholic, most notably as a member of the 2014, 2015, and 2016 State Championship Football Teams. As a senior, he served as team captain and earned First Team All-State honors from the Des Moines Register.

Jack continued his football career at the University of Iowa, beginning as a walk-on before earning a scholarship. He became a four-year letterman, starting 32 games and recording 219 tackles and six interceptions. His honors included two Academic All-Big Ten selections, Honorable Mention All-Big Ten, Second Team All-Big Ten, and serving as a team captain.

After college, Jack signed a free-agent contract with the New Orleans Saints in 2022 and went on to play in the XFL for the San Antonio Brahmas in 2023 and in the European Football League for Austria’s Tirol Raiders in 2024. He also returned to the University of Iowa as a Defensive Graduate Assistant Coach in 2023.

Jack now lives in Des Moines and works for Holmes Murphy. Looking back, some of his favorite memories from Dowling Catholic include the bus rides home after a hard-fought win.
