All Freshmen (8:00am-2:30pm)

All freshmen will report on Thursday, August 20th, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Students are to be in DCHS uniform polo and uniform pants (no shorts allowed). Students should bring a pen and paper for taking notes throughout the day. All freshmen who took summer school should bring their DCHS-issued Chromebook to orientation. The day will begin with a brief welcome in the auditorium followed by three different sessions. One session will be in homeroom where students will receive their schedules and locker assignments and non-summer school freshmen will be issued their DCHS Chromebooks. Another session will be with various presenters in the auditorium, and the final session will be school pictures. (School picture proofs will be emailed home to parents – fromSchoolPictures.com – for optional ordering.)

Students will also find their lockers and try out their combinations, be given a tour of the building, and hear an explanation of how lunch is served at DCHS. Freshmen will eat lunch at Dowling Catholic on orientation day and will need money placed in their lunch accounts. Students may also bring cash for lunch (the cost of daily student lunch, excluding a la carte, is $4.75). After lunch, students will follow their schedule and meet each of their teachers. Dismissal will be at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Sophomores will report to the auditorium by 8am on Friday, August 21st, for a brief welcome and handbook review followed by two sessions. Students are to be in DCHS uniform polo and uniform pants (no shorts allowed) and must bring their DCHS-issued Chromebook to orientation. Students will report to homeroom where they will receive their locker assignments and schedules. The second session will be school pictures in the gym. Juniors will report to the auditorium by 10am on Friday, August 21st, for a brief welcome and handbook review followed by two sessions. Students will report to homeroom where they will receive their locker assignments and schedules. The second session will be school pictures in the gym. Friday, August 21, 2026

All Seniors (12:00pm-2:45pm)

Seniors will report to the auditorium by noon on Friday, August 21st, for a brief welcome and handbook review followed by three sessions. Students are to be in DCHS uniform polo and uniform pants (no shorts allowed) and must bring their DCHS-issued Chromebook to orientation. Seniors will be measured for graduation caps and gowns and receive important information about graduation announcements. Students will then report to homeroom where they will receive their locker assignments and schedules. The final session will be school pictures in the gym. (All seniors will take a new school picture to be used in our OnCampus system. This photo will not take the place of the senior picture submitted to the yearbook.)
