Seal of Biliteracy

Congratulations to the 65 World Language students who earned the 2026 Iowa Seal of Biliteracy, demonstrating proficiency in English and another language through speaking, reading, writing and listening assessments. This year recipients earned the Seal in French, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian. A special distinction was earned by three students who demonstrated proficiency in multiple languages: Alisa Borozniak earned the Seal in Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian, while Carlos Diego Garcia and Eli Granados Carballo each earned it in French and Spanish.
The state awards the Seal to recognize language as an asset, celebrate linguistic diversity and cultural identity, and prepare students for success in today’s workforce and global society.
