Ben Juffer, a 2009 graduate, was a four-year letter winner on the varsity golf team. He earned individual all-state honors twice and all-conference honors all four years. He qualified for numerous national tournaments, including the 2008 US Golf Association Junior Amateur and received national honors from the American Junior Golf Association which ranked him as one of the top 50 high school prospects. He was also named Iowa Junior Player of the Year by the PGA of Iowa.
He attended KSU on a golf scholarship where he was a four-year letter winner and captain his senior year. He earned numerous top finishes in national and state tournaments and was named Kansas Golf Association Player of the Year. He turned professional and played on several professional golf tours before regaining amateur status in 2015.
What he remembers most about his time at DCHS is the family atmosphere, relationships developed and the bond he shared with teammates.
