Matt Haack

2013 Graduate
Matt’s memories of his time at Dowling Catholic High School will last a lifetime because of the friends he made here. He says, “The people, families and coaches have shaped my life and given me more blessings than I ever could have imagined.”

Matt excelled in football and basketball all four years at DCHS, and was on the track team his freshman year. He was on the Honor Roll all four years and was a National Honor Society member and Aquinas Key Excellence Medal recipient. Additionally, he was on the First Team for all of the following: All State Elite Punter, All State Punter, All State Wide Receiver, All Western Iowa Punter, and All Division 3 Punter. Other awards include Shrine Game wide receiver and punter, UNA All State First Team Receiver, Mouth of the Midwest Top Receiver Award, and Iowa Coaches All State Academic Receiver.

Matt graduated from W.P. Casey School of Business at Arizona State University in Sports Business and Media. Matt achieved All Pac 12 Academic Team honors for three years, including first team, second team and an honorable mention. He was the ASU Special Teams’ Player of the Year and winner of the Pat Tillman Academic Achievement Award in 2015. Matt was also a semi-finalist for the William Campbell Trophy, an honor awarded to the top scholar athlete in the nation. In 2017 as a rookie he won the starting position as the punter for the Miami Dolphins. In his inaugural season he tied the NFL game record breaking the franchise record for the most punts inside the 20.

Matt currently resides in Davie, Florida, continuing his football career with the Dolphins.
