Due to the weather forecast, we are going to have a late start for the Placement Test this Saturday, January 18th. Students need to arrive at 10:00 am and the test will begin promptly at 10:15 am. The test will end at 2:30 pm.
Other than the date and time, the rest of the testing details remain the same, which are attached. Please advise the students to eat a big breakfast! We will provide a Kellogg's Rice Krispie treat during one of the breaks.
Students may also bring an additional snack to eat during the break time as well. They may bring a water bottle.WHO: All 8th grade students interested in attending Dowling Catholic.
• Parochial school students are automatically signed up for the exam. The Parochial school principal will provide students’ grades and Iowa Assessment scores. If your child is NOT planning on attending Dowling Catholic please contact Tatia Eischeid, Admissions Director, at 222-1025 or

• Non-Parochial school students please call the Admissions Office at 222-1025 by Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, to register for the exam.

WHAT: High School Placement Test
Please bring the following items:
-Two No. 2 Pencils
(no mechanical pencils, no calculators)-Non–Parochial school students need to bring copies of their most recent Iowa Assessment scores and 8th-grade report card. *If your non-parochial school student has a 504 or IEP, please contact Laura Katch at 515-222-1085 or

*Casual attire, no uniform required.
WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Original date 1/11, but rescheduled due to weather to 1/18.)
Students unable to take the exam on Saturday, Jan. 18 should contact the Admissions Office to register for the make-up exam.
WHERE: Please enter ONLY through the northeast entrance doors.
Dowling Catholic Student Ambassadors will be there to greet and direct students to their classrooms where the testing will occur. Please drop your child off to keep the traffic flow moving.
WHY: The test does not determine admission, but is used to identify the level of classes that will allow the student to be successful in high school. Students may bring a clear water bottle. We provide a Kellogg’s Rice Krispie treat and a break.
