He was consecutively named all-conference, all-city, all-region and all-county each of the three years he played baseball.
Eric was a member of the National Honor Society, a recipient of the John B. Hayes Scholar Athlete scholarship and winner of the Nick Niedert Award. He went on to play football at Notre Dame where he was a Monogram Letter winner. He graduated from Notre Dame in 2015 and from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 2019. He is currently an Orthopedic Surgery resident at the University of Wisconsin.
What he remembers most about his experience at Dowling Catholic are the genuine coaches who cared about him as a person and who pushed he and his teammates to reach their goals. He also has fond memories of his teammates and great friends and of seeing his mom Denise every day in the Dowling Catholic lunch line.
