Who We Are

The Guild is the parents’ organization of Dowling Catholic High School. We promote volunteerism and work to provide funds to support the school for the benefit of all the students. We also offer our talents to provide help with activities as needed throughout the school.

Our Mission

Promotes communication between parents, administration, faculty and students.
Raises funds for the support of Catholic education and is a resource for volunteers.
Actively supports the school, administration and faculty as it relates to Dowling Catholic High School.
Enhances the Dowling Catholic High School community spirit through the activities of the Guild.

OUR MISSION IN ACTION

Vonnie Hess Scholarship
awarded to Spencer Navin!

The 2008 Vonnie Hess Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Spencer Navin, a junior at Dowling Catholic High School. The scholarship is $1,000 and is awarded to a freshman, sophomore or junior for the following year. Nominees are evaluated using the following criteria: involvement in activities that fulfill DCHS' mission of community involvement, average to above average grades accomplished by a student putting forth more effort that the typical student and the extent of voluntary involvemnt in extracurricular activities and fine arts. The scholarship is funded through the funds raised by the DCHS Parents' Guild.

Eagle Scout Contributes to the Parents' Guild
Isaac Akers, a current sophomore at Dowling Catholic and member of the Boy Scout Troop #71 contacted the Parents'Guild last spring with interest in volunteering his time and talents to the guild with any needs we may have in an effort to fulfill his Eagle Scout qualifications. Under the direction of Maggie Bennett, 2008 DCHS Pancake Breakfast Chairperson, he commenced on the project of constructing new platforms for the grills used at our annual breakfast.
Isaac initiated a business connection with Mr. Bill Gassmann, CEO of BGS Enterprise, who kindly donated all the materials and labor for the project. See photos below of Isaac's work. We are ever so grateful to Isaac for his effort and gift of volunteerism.
